ABOUT

Casa Teresa is a new Spanish Restaurant by Chef Ruben Garcia, utilizing open-fire cooking and seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients. Casa Teresa is located inside DC's newest culinary destination, The Square, a collective of a dynamic lineup of talented cooks and craftspeople brought together by Unfold Hospitality. We’re longtime food industry veterans and some of the creative minds formerly behind ThinkFoodGroup, Union Market, and La Cosecha.

We are looking for experienced Servers with a strong work ethics to help set and maintain the highest standards of cuisine and professionalism.

Ruben Garcia's roots in the culinary world run through Spain's finest kitchens. Beginning in the Michelin star kitchens of Jean Luc Figueras and Martin Berasetegui, Ruben enhanced his knowledge of innovative techniques, imaginative presentation and high-quality products during his five years with Ferran Adria at El Bulli. Ruben continued pushing the limits of avant-garde cooking as creative director of minibar, working closely with Chef Jose Andres.

Inspired by the life and cooking of his abuela Teresa, Ruben founded Casa Teresa as an homage to the home cooks who created the tradition of Spanish cuisine.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Understand and perform to the expectations of Casa Teresa’s Service, Food, Beverage and Wine manuals.
  • Welcome all guests and ensure they are given responsive, professional and gracious service at all times.
  • Engage in conversation and help to build a guest clientele that returns.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and stocking of the Bar area.
  • Prepare all drinks following specific recipes and standards.
  • Correctly enter all orders into the point of service system.
  • Communicate with manager to ensure the most pleasurable dining experience possible, alerting management to any guest dissatisfactions or areas of potential conflict.
  • Monitor stock levels of liquor, wine, drinks and supplies. Replenish as necessary. Communicate with manager concerning necessary perishable products for upcoming services. Inform manager of any supplies that are out of stock.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment. Keep all service stations/areas clean and organized at all times.
  • Ensure proper handling of all supplies to prevent breakage. Help to reduce unnecessary waste.
  • Communicate pertinent service information to a Manager in a prompt fashion, which will allow the team members to respond as necessary and work together as a team.
  • Participate in Pre-Shift meetings, asking questions of menu items or wine choices that are new or may be unclear.
  • Ensure equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs.
  • Be able to properly manage time in order to multi-task and work efficiently.
  • Properly communicate with the host to ensure status of each table before seating and ensure that the appropriate drinks are brought to the appropriate person.
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring forward suggestions for improvement.
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.
