Fasano Restaurants and Hotels is a Brazilian-based hospitality company specializing in boutique hotels and Italian restaurant concepts. Their first New York property, Fasano Fifth Avenue, is a full service boutique hotel, located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Their first restaurant in New York is located in the heart of midtown East.
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Sous Chef at Fasano Fifth Avenue in New York, NY. The Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation, managing and training kitchen staff, ensuring the quality and consistency of dishes, and adhering to all health and safety regulations. The Sous Chef will also be responsible for maintaining inventory and managing food and labor costs.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in a high-volume, fine dining restaurant
- Experience in managing kitchen staff and training employees
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and plating
- Experience in inventory management and controlling food and labor costs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and team management skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
