The original Le Pain Quotidien in New York, this store is where our founder Alain Coumont set up shop after taking a leap of faith to introduce his Belgian concept to the United States in 1997. Once he settled on this space, Alain spent countless nights in the basement baking his traditional loaves and pastries to meet the interest of his new customers. Today Madison serves as a test ground for our menu innovation, featuring our newest botanical tartines and salads before the rest of New York tastes them. A block away from Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, this location is the perfect place for a relaxing weekend brunch or post-museum meal.
