Upscale restaurant is seeking a motivated and energetic candidate, great at organization and communication for the Event Sales Director role. They will oversee a 365-day, large-scale private events department. Seeking individuals who have a solid knowledge of food and beverage, a strong business acumen, and have a proven track record displaying creativity and excellent communication skills. Candidates with a large client database will be a plus.
Duties include:
• Sales of private events
• Oversee the catering budget and forecast for the year
• Organization of leads
• Maintenance of contacts
• Creation of BEOs and floorplans for all private events
• Overseeing a large hotel / restaurant private events department
• Creation of menus / other physical assets
• Working with management and operations to ensure delivery of high-quality product
Requirements:
• Experience in event sales
• Have a client Rolodex
• Previous NYC hotel experience a plus
• Excellent management, supervisory, and customer service skills
• Experience with conference, meeting and production management
• A high level of energy and passion for service, people and quality
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines
• Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Tripleseat a plus.
• Flexible schedule for onsite work 40-50+ hours per week
• Able to work evenings and weekends/holidays as required.
Compensation:
Experience-based compensation beginning at $70 -80k annually plus competitive commission based on experience.
