Its 418 rooms and thoughtful shared spaces bring modern design to life with restored architectural details. Guests are looked after by the hotel's novel Social Hosts, who create a warm, convivial atmosphere as they facilitate stays that are personally tailored, unique, and full of discovery. Inside, visitors and locals mix and mingle in the communal living room and lively gathering spot, The Post Room and the iconic Starlite (coming early 2024). With everything from walkable shops and restaurants to cable cars outside the front door, the central and connected Union Square location is the perfect home base for exploring San Francisco.
We are actively searching for a restaurant host.
Job Responsibilities:
A restaurant host, or greeter, is responsible for welcoming guests to the Starlite and ensuring that they are seated and receive attentive service. They ensure that the guests have a positive experience as soon as they enter the restaurant.
- Greeting customers as they walk into the Starlite
- Helping guests with reservations and guiding them to their table
- Giving guests accurate wait time estimates and seating them in the waiting area
- Providing customers with menus and answering any initial questions they may have
- Optimizing seating at different tables to ensure even workload for wait staff
- Answering phones and scheduling reservations with large parties

Required
2 years: Guest Service Experience in hospitality industry Positive attitude and interpersonal skills Good communication skills and phone etiquette Flexibility when working alternating shifts Ability to stand for long periods of time
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($20.60) plus tips
