Au Cheval New York is looking for a dedicated and experienced Full Time Prep Cook ($21-$22/hr) to join our team!

Experience and Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate is kind, positive, and works well with others. They also believe in quality, consistency and working in a clean, organized, and inclusive environment where respect and dignity is prioritized.

  • Must have 1+ years minimum kitchen experience.
  • Must have availability to work morning shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must enjoy an active, athletic role.
  • Must be positive, collaborative and committed to healthy communication and quality work
  • Ability to remain positive and productive in a potentially hot or cold busy work environment

 

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Set up and disinfect workstations. 
  • Follow the preparation lists created by the chefs. 
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings, accurately by weight, and execute recipes exactly as they are written in the recipe index. 
  • Ensure all food is properly labeled, stored and easily accessible. 
  • Assist chefs in food preparation and attend to any culinary tasks that arise.
  • Monitor food and refrigeration room temperatures. 
  • Accept or reject items and ingredients from suppliers.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and disinfected kitchen.
  • Wash, chop and sort ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, dairy products and meats.
  • Track ingredient inventory and collaborate with other kitchen and management staff to order replenishments.
  • Properly unload and store deliveries.

Responsabilidades y Deberes:

  • Configurar y desinfectar las estaciones de trabajo.

  • Seguir las listas de preparación creadas por los chefs.

  • Medir ingredientes y condimentos, con precisión por peso, y ejecute recetas exactamente como están escritas en el índice de recetas.

  • Asegúrarse de que todos los alimentos estén debidamente etiquetados, almacenados y de fácil acceso.

  • Asistir a los chefs en la preparación de alimentos y atender cualquier tarea culinaria que surja.

  • Supervisar las temperaturas de los alimentos y de la sala de refrigeración.

  • Aceptar o rechazar artículos e ingredientes de los proveedores.

  • Mantener una cocina limpia, ordenada y desinfectada.

  • Lavar, picar y clasificar ingredientes como frutas, verduras, productos lácteos y carnes.

  • Realizar un seguimiento del inventario de ingredientes y colaborar con otro personal de cocina y administración para ordenar el reabastecimiento.

  • Descargar y almacenar adecuadamente las entregas.
