CORE: is currently seeking enthusiastic and experienced Line Cooks with fine dining cooking experience to join our Culinary Team

CORE: is an upscale private member only club and is comprised of a 110-seat restaurant, 60 seated terrace, 4 private dining rooms, a library and event spaces.  Our menu is Italian/Mediterranean driven, with a focus on offering well sourced, ethically farmed, fresh ingredients to create seasonally inspired menus prepared by our culinary team with Michelin Star experience.

As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating all food items in accordance with the precision and quality that meet our CORE: company standards.

• Effectively and professionally running your station during service period, ensuring excellence in cooking, timing, plate assembly, and communication.
• Prepare and execute mise en place fully for your own station; ensure that station mise en place is prepped, seasoned, and stocked throughout service and overall station remains clean and organized.
• Accurately handling food items to minimize waste and maintain health code
• Actively participates in the positive relationship between FOH, Bar and BOH teams by maintaining steady stream of communication with entire team and staff.
• Take part in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties
• Demonstrate a passion for details and willingness to learn
• Uphold service preparation and culinary standards to ensure a memorable guest experience
• Maintain and uphold our company’s vision and values
• Maintain and uphold the cleanliness of the kitchen in line with NYC DOH standards and CORE: standards

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years of line cook experience
• High volume, fine-dining experience preferred
• Solid understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, consistency, production, sanitation, and presentation
• Highly motivated, focused, and passionate
• Exhibits professionalism and teamwork; great interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
• Ability to work well under pressure, be professional, efficient, detail-oriented, and courteous
• Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn and grow
