We are high-end, 18-seat cocktail bar and restaurant, opened since September 2022, located in front of the One-Star Michelin omakase restaurant Noda. We are looking for a line cook who can prepare and execute service at a high standard. Ideal candidates should also be comfortable with serving customers as you will be preparing hand rolls in front of guests.
Job Requirements
- Plate and present dishes to customers
- Follow recipes and team processes to ensure meeting time and quality standards.
- Ensure food safety standards are always maintained, including proper storage of all kitchen items, use of PPE, and the maintaining of proper pH of rice, among others.
- Follow all cleaning procedures and ensure best hygiene and personal grooming practices
- Collaborate effectively and respectfully with all team members.
- Effectively communicate with management and immediately report any equipment, food quality, and service issues.
- Prepare daily family meal and any other prep/receiving duties, as assigned
Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- 1+ years of work in restaurants.
- The ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.
- Always maintains a warm and friendly demeanor.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to learn.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- This position will spend 100% of the time standing.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- NYC Food Protection Course Certification (preferred)
