Mattina Restaurant & Café is seeking a Restaurant Manager
Located in San Francisco’s lower pacific heights neighborhood, Mattina is a dynamic upscale casual restaurant and café. Our goal is to offer a dining and café experience with commitments to the craft of hospitality, creativity, and a desire to offer a both vital and innovative product. Mattina offers a frequently changing seasonal menu built around a charcoal fired-hearth, house-made pasta program and brick oven. All served in a warm and comforting setting. The mostly Italian wine program offers several wines by the glass and a well-rounded offering of selections from some of the best producers in Italy.
Qualified candidates for this position are well experienced and can demonstrate a proven track record of growth, fiscal responsibility and above all customer service.
The Manager's focus is leading the FOH team and daily administrative operations; positioning the business for continued growth; establishing and maintaining good procedures throughout the physical space and ensuring continuous training and best practices are followed. This position will help in recruiting new staff and refining the service team; achieving objectives in sales, costs, profitability, and guest service and satisfaction; through overseeing the day-to-day operations.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Have a strong vision for hospitality
- Strong supervisory, time management and leadership skills
- Assume responsibility for every aspect of the Mattina guest experience, and lead all team members to do the same
- FOH leadership, including training staff, providing exceptional customer service and taking care of the equipment and facilities
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Run pre-shift meetings, map and communicate server station coverage, side work and SOPS.
- Schedule and hold hiring interviews, mentor, train, and coach staff to further develop teams and their skills
- Work with the restaurant team to develop strategies to grow the business
- Develop food and beverage knowledge for every product, and lead associates to achieve the same. Create and maintain a food/bev matrix for staff
- Embrace change and deliver top results no matter the obstacle
- Payroll and tip pool tracking
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service
- Ability to use Microsoft office and Adobe in design
- Knowledge of food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines

EXPERIENCE
- 3 years or more experience as a restaurant manager and at least 5 years’ experience in restaurants
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to adhere to health and safety standards
- Ability to move through all parts of the restaurant quickly and safely
- Standing for prolonged periods
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds at time
