The Role

As a Cashier/Hostess at our top-tier catering company, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and guests, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience. This multifaceted role involves handling transactions, managing reservations, and providing excellent customer service. You will play a pivotal role in creating a positive and seamless experience for our clients from the moment they inquire about our services to the completion of their event.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Greet clients and guests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Provide information about catering packages, menus, and services.
  • Address inquiries and assist clients in making informed decisions about their catering needs.

Reservation Management:

  • Handle reservations and inquiries regarding event availability.
  • Maintain an organized system for tracking reservations and availability.
  • Coordinate with other staff members to ensure accurate event scheduling.

Cash Handling:

  • Process payments for catering services, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide receipts and address any payment-related queries.
  • Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment securely.

Event Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the catering team to ensure seamless coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
  • Communicate special requests or considerations from clients to the appropriate departments.

Communication:

  • Effectively communicate with clients, guests, and internal staff to relay important information and updates.
  • Manage phone calls, emails, and inquiries promptly and professionally.

Hospitality:

  • Create a welcoming atmosphere for clients and guests by ensuring a clean and organized front-of-house area.
  • Assist in coordinating event logistics, such as seating arrangements and guest arrivals.

Problem Resolution:

  • Address and resolve customer concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate supervisor or manager when necessary.

Multitasking:

  • Juggle multiple responsibilities, such as handling transactions, managing reservations, and assisting with guest inquiries simultaneously.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in customer service, cashiering, or host/hostess roles, preferably in the hospitality or catering industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in handling cash transactions and basic knowledge of POS systems.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to stand for a long period of time.
  • Available to work late nights and weekends, as required.
