Aska is a fine dining, two Michelin-starred restaurant owned by Swedish chef Fredrik Berselius. We serve a 12-14 course tasting menu in an intimate yet spacious, ten-table dining room.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Captain who wants to commit to something greater than themselves and continue to develop their skills with some incredible mentors. This is a high-level leadership position within our restaurant.
Working with us means…
We are committed to being industry leaders and leading by example. Working with us means working harmoniously, respectfully, passionately, and towards personal growth. Working with us means that you will be personally valued.
A Captain at Aska has an advanced understanding of how to interact with guests and is the main contact for guiding our guests through all aspects of our unique menu and service.
Captains possess a general knowledge of the wine list, and a thorough understanding of the menu and how the two interact. While the Sommelier will be handling most wine queries, a Captain is responsible for knowing all details about our wine pairings, by the glass selections, non-alcoholic options and cocktails. The Captain/Sommelier relationship is paramount to a guest’s experience, and they must be able to work in tandem to provide exceptional experiences for our guests.
What makes you great…
A career-minded, motivated, organized, and charismatic individual seeking a rewarding position in the restaurant industry. You are inherently hospitable, infinitely curious, humble and most importantly KIND.
Your restaurant experience is refined, and you are passionate about food and beverage, people and hospitality. You perform well under pressure and have an insatiable desire to learn. You communicate well and can delegate when necessary.
Experience within a Michelin star environment strongly preferred
