Job Details
A well established restaurant group from NYC, is opening a new restaurant in DC
and is looking for a GENERAL MANAGER to join our team and be part of this highly
anticipated opening of an iconic NY restaurant in DC.
Our ideal candidates are gracious, unique and possess a love for hospitality. We
are looking for a GM who knows food, wine and excellent service, an individual
who can help us create a lively, warm, and welcoming environment. Should be an
excellent leader with great personal skills. Able to lead a large staff through busy
service.

This position is very hands on and requires someone who is quick and can work
well under pressure and maintain a positive working environment. We require
someone who is professional, mature, and capable of giving directions and making
decisions while being diplomatic. You must provide strong leadership by
motivating and coaching others to the next level.
The General Manager will work closely with the Owner, Director of Operations,
and Director of Human Resources. Must have 2-5 years of experience working as a
General Manager and strong leadership skills.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Must be People Oriented - enjoys working with our guests and employees,
possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge and experience in fine dining service.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
• Schedule will include both day and evening floor shifts.
• Will work closely with all kitchen staff, wait staff, and restaurant staff to
coordinate the operations of the restaurant.
• Must provide training and food safety protocols for each employee.
• Oversee employee scheduling.
• Create a safe and positive work environment that is conducive to a highquality
dining experience.
• Generate a profit and loss statement and report earnings and other key
insights to the restaurant owner.
• Work closely with the bar manager to coordinate the beverage program
including cocktails, supplies, and other beverage needs.
• Oversee and review any customer complaints and resolve any issues for
customer satisfaction.
• Familiarity with DC labor laws.
• Assign administrative tasks and effectively generate tasks for the
management team.
• Will be performing daily/weekly/monthly/yearly administrative duties.
• Duties will include inventory, and candidates must achieve and maintain
both preset BOH and FOH labor and food costs goals.
• Must always work in complete compliance with the DOH and conduct daily
DOH walk-throughs.

MUST HAVE:
• DC Food Handler Certificate
• French Wine and Food knowledge is required for this position

MINETTA TAVERN NY ORIGINALLY OPENED IN 1937

Named after the Minetta Brook — which ran southwest from 23rd Street to the Hudson River — the Tavern was frequented by various layabouts and hangers-on including Ernest Hemingway, Ezra Pound, Eugene O'Neill, E. E. Cummings, Dylan Thomas, and Joe Gould, as well as by various writers, poets, and pugilists.

Since its renovation, Minetta Tavern has best been described as "Parisian steakhouse meets classic New York City tavern."

We hope — and believe — that's a somewhat accurate description of the place.
