Elf Cafe in Echo Park is seeking an experienced Prep Cook to work directly with our Culinary Director and Sous Chef preparing various menu components in a consistent, expert and high quality manner. Applicant must take initiative and be a self starter who takes great pride in his or her abilities and palate. Elf uses high quality, local and regeneratively farmed produce and proteins and local, sustainably caught seafood. We are a small neighborhood restaurant with a small, tight-knit crew, each of whom depends on their co-workers to execute our menu. Elf was founded 17 years ago and has garnered international acclaim. We have never had a freezer or microwave and, as such, our food is prepped every day in house. We are seeking a person with the right temperament and experience who can bust out the prep list every day to exacting standards while maintaning a clean and organized prep area.
