What we're looking for in you:

Are you an experienced chef with a sense of urgency who cares about delighting a community through delicious bites? Looking for a team that cares about each other?

We’re interested in someone like you to prepare and execute fun and interesting small plates and sandwiches. We need someone who believes the details matter in creating unforgettable experiences. We want to collaborate with you on menu items and help you bring exciting dining concepts come to life.

Responsibilities aka what you’ll be doing
  • Prepare and serve up tasty food that makes people smile 
  • Maintain quality standards in food safety and sanitation to keep everyone healthy
  • Keep clean and organized to make the kitchen a happy place
  • Assist in maintaining ingredient inventory and ordering so no one gets stressed
Qualifications aka what we need from you:
  • NYC Food Protection Certificate (NYC DOH Food Handler’s License) (required)
  • Interest in collaborating on new small plates and dining concepts
  • Ability to stay on your feet — especially physically
  • General knowledge of cooking techniques, equipment, and food handling practices
  • Have a sense of urgency (and a sense of humor helps!)
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Commitment and genuine passion for hospitality

Hi-Note is a radio bar located in the heart of Alphabet City. We host community radio in the bar, featuring live radio sets and original programming. Day and night, we serve a delicious range of offerings from coffee, craft cocktails, wine, to beer in addition to an evolving food program with small shareable plates in a sophisticated environment.
