Michele’s is a New American restaurant by Chef Matt Baker of Michelin-starred Gravitas.
Our cuisine is inspired by Baker’s family roots in France and influenced by local ingredients and sensibilities. Michele’s is named after Chef Matt Baker’s mother, who was born in New Orleans to French immigrants. Michele’s plans to tell the story of French-American cooking.
A minimum experience of one to two years of service in a fine-dining or Chef-driven restaurant is ideal. Fluency in English is preferred. Menu knowledge and memorization are key for the Host role as well as focus, charm, and a high sense of urgency. - Managing the reservation system to prepare for service and update throughout
- Communicating any VIP guests or needs to both the manager and the server helping them.
- Answering the phone and assisting with guest inquiries including, but not limited to, reservation availability, menu pricing, private events, hours of operation
- Managing reservations by accurately entering them into the system, as well as leading communication with guests regarding special requests, identifying dietary restrictions and celebrations, etc.
- Be aware of food critics and bloggers and notify management accordingly.
- Maintaining organization and cleanliness of lobby area such as Host Stand, front doors and windows, etc.
- Maintaining readiness and cleanliness of guest restrooms
- Leading coat check operations and communication with the rest of service team
- Maintaining menu accuracy and cleanliness and helping to communicate to managers when updates are needed
- Reacting in a timely and appropriate manner for special requests, VIP guests, and opportunities in service and communicating as needed with management
- Accepting feedback from members of the management team and aligning oneself to the specific goals of Michele’s and the team.
