Position Summary
Assistant General Manager will partner with the General manager on all aspects of first floor operations including ( Restaurant, Private Dining Room, and Winery dinners). They will be responsible for driving guest satisfaction through hiring, training and development of their hourly team. The Assistant General Manager will ensure the team operates at the highest level of hospitality and provides exemplary customer service. The ideal candidate should be passionate about hospitality, guest satisfaction and team development. All role responsibilities are listed below.
Role Responsibilities
- Team Management
- Partner with the General Manager and all people related items from hiring, training and discipline of hourly staff
- Actively coach the team throughout service, providing ongoing feedback and development
- Lead the team in service, ensuring that all standards are adhered to on the floor and in service
- Ensure employees are properly on-boarded/off-boarded and employee paperwork is up to date.
- Assist with running weekly manager meeting to go over operational goals, priorities, and concerns
- Create and implement monthly trainings for Restaurant Staff
- Maintain staff schedule to ensure proper coverage for shifts
- Service Responsibilities
- Work busy floor shifts ensuring that the operation is run as per Company vision and standards
- Interact with guests to monitor satisfaction and ensure a positive and memorable experience
- Manage the restaurant's appearance and atmosphere throughout service and maintain a safe and productive environment for both guests and staff
- Work with management team to create a superb and consistent customer experience
- Maintain a positive, productive, organized, and safe environment for all employees in line with employee handbook and Company vision
- Lead Private Dining Room Event operations
- Operational Responsibilities
- Partner with Kitchen & Winery teams to design new product launches and ensure they are integrated seamlessly into the menu
- Work with General Manager and Marketing Manager to execute promotions and specials
- Oversee inventory and ordering of china/silver/glass, alcohol, paper goods, linens, and other service-related items
- Work with General Manager to create, update, and implement SOPs, policies & procedures
- Oversee reservations including, but not limited to, email inquiries, large party requests, special reservations, and general OpenTable maintenance
- Manage communications in Triple Seat detailing Private Dining Room Events and creating BEO’s
- Manage liquor, beer, and n/a beverage ordering and costing
- Create, organize and reconcile monthly beverage inventories, as well as monthly managing of wine inventory
- Manage POS system and organization including current staff members and all menu items
- Assist with operations and marketing with transitions of wine skus
- Maintain active licenses for ABRA, department of health, and other necessary certifications
- Maintain compliance with Department of Health standards and guidelines
Role Qualifications
- Must have 2-4 years hospitality leadership experience
- Strong people management, communication and listening skills.
- Must be highly motivated and self-starter with a passion for hospitality
- Ability to coach, train and motivate employees to create a cohesive environment
- Proficient in front of the house operations with sound financial acumen
- Proven ability to lead a team and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
- Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills.
- Possess strong decision making and problem skills
