Soho Diner is looking for a Sous Chef to join the Kitchen leadership team. The perfect candidate has an eye for detail, composition and efficient execution. This Sous will lead the team by example, supporting an environment of development and coaching to maintain a culinary team who execute at a high level. The candidate has a love for food, service and New York hopsitality.
You are extremely organized, detail-oriented, and professional. You are also fastidiously tidy- we run a very tight and very clean ship and we expect everyone to help keep it that way. You are warm and personable to everyone, customers and teammates alike- hospitality is in your DNA. You take great pride in your work and the difference between doing something and doing something well means everything.
Responsibilities:
- quality control and execution management, ensuring the team is set up every shift for success
- onboarding/training new team members and overseeing them to work at highest standards
- work closely with FOH manager to make sure service is smooth and guest experience is great
- manage waste, inventory and ordering processes to ensure an adequate level of product and supplies
- review weekly sales data to review any challenges or opportunities
- keep sanitation and cleanliness levels high, following protocol
- work on quality control and new menu implementation with Executive Chef
While performing the duties of the job, the Sous Chef is regularly required to stand and walk; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. They must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
