About Qué Miso Restaurant Hinsdale
Qué Miso is a restaurant in downtown Hinsdale from Chef/ Partner Tyler Nelson that is Modern Mexican with a sprinkle of Japanese.
The Opportunity
The Sous Chef position will work directly with the Executive Chef/Partner to ensure excellence in the kitchen, adherence to recipes, oversight of their area of the kitchen and the cooks in their station. The sous chef leads the cooks, complies with company policies and team safety and well-being, all while upholding the Qué Miso culture.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Work directly with the Executive Chef/ Partner to execute menus and dishes at every service while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and beautiful, delicious cuisine.
- Oversee and lead cooks in their respective area of the kitchen to ensure everyone is performing at a high level.
- Increase productivity and foster positive communications between the kitchen and dining room.
- Be a driving force to build relationships between our restaurant and the neighborhood.
- Ensure rigorous knowledge of and adherence to all applicable laws, policies, procedures, and Chef Nelson’s recipes.

- Proficient knowledge of cooking techniques and ingredients
- Ability to lead and empower a team.
- English fluency and Spanish preferred
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of kitchen experience in an upscale restaurant
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50+ pounds
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule per the needs of the business
- Bachelor’s Degree, Certification in Hospitality, or relevant experience gained from time on the job.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary ($57000-$65000) plus bonuses. Based on experience
