OPENING SOON: New York-centric American Restaurant in the vibrant Notlita neighborhood. We are seeking a talented passionate professional for CDC Position. The Head Chef will work closely with Executive Chef and ownership to create built and maintain a creative menu as well as all BOH systems to promote the successful opening as well as ongoing day to day operation. Staff of about 20.
Candidates should have extensive experience in casual and fine dining management, high volume/ high quality production as well as cost control.
A solid understanding of contemporary and classic technique required.
Familiarity with seasonal product and local vendors a plus. Reverence for quality product a must.
Positive attitude and good team building skills.
Ability to problem solve, maintain and improve upon systems.
Must be able you lead by example and seriously cook.
Must have Food Handlers Certificate or obtain one within a month on starting.
Day to day responsibilities include:
--Management of all Kitchen staff
--Daily Production
--Daily Ordering
--Supervising the cleanliness, sanitation standards and organization of the kitchen
--Quality control & maintaining high standards
--Expediting service
--Supporting or working the line as necessary
--Collaborating on menu and daily specials
--Tracking costs
--Training of staff
