BARTENDER
Job Description
Yokai us a new resturaunt that will mix fresh California fare with the finest Japanes ingrediants. The bar will be focused on higballs and G&Ts with specialty coktails inspired by our travels in Japan.
Yokai is looking for a Bartender to work with our bar program as we open in Septmeber.
An ideal candidate has experience bartending as well as experience serving food in an “elevated” service environment. Knowledge of spirits (especially Japanese whisky) and wine is a major plus as well.
This is an hourly tipped position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform opening and closing duties including, but not limited to, .
Work with management/beverage director to create protocols, train and maintain
staff standards and ensure consistent execution.
Responsible for the state of the bar - cleanliness, stocking, arrangement, equipment,
and overall preparedness.
Work with management/beverage director on ordering, receiving, stocking, invoicing,
inventory and equipment needs.
Evolve the bar program and cocktail selections through the seasons.
Responsible for the monthly inventory process.
Assist with the management/beverage director on cost control & profitability.
Take food orders and provide excellent service to guests seated at the bar
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous bartending experience required.
Must know the fundamentals of beverage mixing, inventory and pars, glass type and
uses, and drink recipe knowledge.
Must be familiar with CA liquor laws.
Must be at least 21 years of age.

Ability to coordinate a variety of activities simultaneously and prioritize work to meet
deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must have good judgment, versatility, flexibility.
Motivated and good team player who takes initiative.
Must have a courteous, friendly and professional manner.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Standing/walking approximately 90% of shift.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, lift and grasp to perform routine tasks for up
to 6 hours at a time.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
REQUIRED HOURS:
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
