This is a full time Monday-Friday serving position. Occasional weekends. Must have open availability.
- Establish a warm welcoming and professional atmosphere to all members and their guests as well as to your fellow employees
- Works as part of a team to set-up, serve and breakdown events using correct food and beverage techniques
- Ensure that all lights, sound and fixtures are in proper working order and address with your supervisor of those that are not
- Be able to execute different banquet functions including meetings, tastings, receptions, lunches, brunches and dinners
- Ability to use the POS for all a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinners
- Set-up chafers, glassware, flatware or any other materials or props that must be used to display food product elegantly
- Use of props and appropriate sized linen to accent food as instructed or requested
- Insure that room is set completely 15 minutes prior to the start of any function
- Assists in seating of members at their tables including pulling out the chair
- Identify yourself to all the tables that you are assigned to, recite the menu and inquire about food allergies. Communicate those allergies to your supervisor immediately
- Provide immediate service to guests upon seating and stay in your station in the dining room
- Take any appropriate food orders in a specific trained manner
- Refill all beverages served with and after the meal, as a request or as per instructions
- Stay on the floor at all times. The only acceptable time to be off the floor is during if your supervisor gives you permission or if a member requests something not in the room
- Respond to members’ requests through your supervisor immediately
- Refrain from non-job related and negative chatter on the floor
- Advise supervisor of any member/guest complaints as soon as they occur
- Actively respond to supervisors’ requests regarding special guests or last-minute details of an event
- Clear soiled glasses, flatware and chinaware in all areas, rack them into appropriate racks/bins in the pantries
- Complete all side work that has been assigned or has been instructed at the end of each shift
- All counter tops must be wiped and sanitized at the end of every shift
- All soiled linens must be put in a linen bag and brought downstairs after each shift
- Stock pantries with dry and wet supplies as required by the par list
- Continually strive to improve skill set including executing events with minimal supervision
- Must be able to carry up trays weighing up to 40 pounds
Abide by the grooming standards of the department
- Attend all regularly scheduled meetings, training sessions and employee evaluations
- Abide by the uniform standards of the department
- Address all guest/members concerns or questions immediately and follow through upon the completion of the request
- Abide by and enforce all policies and procedure set by the management team at The Acorn Club
- Performs all other functions as required by management
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time
