PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
The Host person is a member of the Food and Beverage team that assists in ensuring that Langham Hotel guest service and food and beverage standards are met. Hospitable, welcoming and friendly guest service, are essential requirements of the position.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:
- Greet and seat guests
- Answer the telephone/take reservations/manage OpenTable reservations
- Stock Menus and make sure they are clean and free of blemishes
- Responsible for handling guest requests.
- Provide maximum levels of guest service while maintaining Langham Hotel standards.
- Report to duty as scheduled by manager according to operating hours with flexibility
- Receive takeout orders via phone and in person, make sure guests receive their orders
- Assist server/busser/barback/bartender as needed
- Additional duties not mentioned above may also be requested by supervisor
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:
- Available to work evenings.
- Use written (verbal/visual) sources of information, e.g. read reports, procedural documentation, reference materials.
- Use verbal auditory sources of information.
- Use non-verbal auditory sources of information, e.g. alarms.
- Use oral communication to perform work, e.g. answer telephone, and receive visitors.
- Stand; Reach; Grasp; Lift/Carry; Walk; Kneel; Squat/ Bend; Push/Pull
- Make minor decisions requiring limited judgment, e.g. task sequencing, Make general decisions in the absence of specific directions, e.g. prioritizing workload
- Must have related previous experience in similar environment
- React well and remain in control when working with high volume under pressure
- Attend monthly department meeting and provided trainings
