Kensington Quarters, the flagship restaurant of 13th Street Kitchens restaurant group (Cafe Lift, La Chinesca, Prohibition Taproom), is looking for an Executive Chef for our exciting and unique seafood and raw bar concept in the Fishtown neighborhood.  The Executive Chef will work collaboratively as part of the management team to create a unique dining experience.

Being positive and creating a positive work environment is key to succeeding in this role. We are a high volume restaurant that requires the necessary skills to oversee a management team, and Line Cook team. Candidates must be willing to work in concert with ownership and upper management to achieve all of the combined goals, but most importantly, must have a strong desire to teach while cooking well-seasoned, great food.

Desired Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of progressive culinary management experience in well-rated restaurants.
• The ability and desire to work with locally-sourced, seasonal foods, and designing menus based on them.
• Prior experience and success in running expo in a busy kitchen.
• Experience with hiring, training and mentoring hourly BOH staff.
• Strong financial acumen with the proven ability to oversee cost control, labor management and bottom-line profitability.
• Ability to drive performance and results of a diverse culinary workforce.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
