Job Details
 
Full time line cook position with great hours and compensation package.  Work in a guestless restaurant environment, cooking food based on recipes from some of the best chefs in the country.  Minimum of 2 years cooking experience, preferably within high end and or high volume establishments.

DAILY DUTIES

  • Understand the quality and expectations of our establishment.
  • Supervise the Prep Cook  Team during preparation and service periods, keeping the Chefs informed of their progress.
  • Prioritize daily work schedules with fellow Line Cooks while also delegating appropriate work to Prep Cook  and Externs; provide assistance as appropriate to gain greater efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work environment. Keep all areas clean and organized at all times.
  • Collaborate when appropriate in menu changes, including specials/seasonal offerings.
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards of the property.
  • Work in tandem with the team to ensure standards are met or exceeded, as it relates to appearance of the facilities, sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.
  • Assist in training and mentoring your team members to assist them in achieving their professional goals.
  • Prepare all required paperwork, requested of you by your supervisor in an organized and timely manner.
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
  • Assure all necessary items are in the restaurant at the start of the shift. Communicate any needs in an appropriate time frame, ensuring all ingredients represent our quality standards and are in line with the standards established by the Chef. Communicate any discrepancies.
  • Take appropriate action to rectify any issues that may arise.
  • All other duties as assigned.

MISCELLANEOUS PROJECTS

  • Provide mentorship to the new staff members.
  • Attend all scheduled meeting and bring forth ideas to continue the growth of Moveable Feast

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Minimum Level:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic math and computer skills.

Preferred Level:

  • Associate’s degree in hospitality or related field.

Relevant Work Experience

Minimum Level:

  • 3 years of related food, beverage and/or service experience in a fine dining atmosphere with cooking and prep experience.

Preferred Level:

  • 5+ years of related food, beverage and/or service experience in a fine dining atmosphere with cooking and prep experience.

Certification/Achievements

  • Food Sanitation Certification

Essential Functions

  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Lead and have the ability to inspire and positively impact others.

Physical Requirements

  • Be able to stand/walk for long periods of time.
  • Able to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Must have the ability to work 60 hours per week.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds numerous times and bend and reach frequently

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($24.00 - $28.00)
