Job Details

DineAmic Hospitality is seeking a Training Facilitator. The Training Facilitator will conduct training programs for guest-facing team members at DineAmic Hospitality restaurants, as well as maintain and refine the materials used for new hire and continuing education. The Training Facilitator will coordinate with members of our FOH and BOH management teams to identify needs, update content and materials, lead workshops, administer training assessments, and provide reporting to management teams on employee successes and areas for improvement. The ideal candidate is organized, able to work independently and take direction, and has both formal training in education and experience working in full-service restaurants. The Training Facilitator will report directly to the Manager of Training and Development.

 

General Functions + Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Manager of Training and Development to update comprehensive training materials and resources for all front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
  • Update training modules, presentations, manuals, and interactive activities that cover essential service skills, product knowledge, and company policies on a routine basis.
  • Communicate with FOH and BOH management to ensure food and beverage materials are updated weekly
  • Implement and monitor ongoing training quizzes and modules to reinforce skills, address areas of improvement, and introduce new concepts or menu items; create new materials as needed
  • Work with Human Resources and venue Office Managers to ensure applicable employees have access to Schoox, our Learning Management System, and complete their assignments on time
  • Conduct effective onboarding sessions for new employees, introducing them to DineAmic’s culture, values, and service expectations.
  • Conduct classroom-style and on-the-floor workshops
  • Educate staff about the menu offerings, ingredients, preparation methods, allergies, and recommended beverage pairings to enhance their ability to provide informed recommendations to guests.
  • Demonstrate and teach service techniques that promote a hospitable, attentive, and personalized experience for guests.
  • Collaborate with management teams to facilitate service seminars
  • Use clear and concise communication in classroom and 1-1 settings for new hires to obtain knowledge about service procedures, food, and beverage in the restaurant
  • Train staff on upselling, suggestive selling techniques, and how to obtain the “perfect check”
  • Provide guidance on handling challenging situations and customer complaints diplomatically, aiming for swift resolution while preserving guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor staff's progress in-venue on a weekly-basis and adapt training approaches as necessary.
  • Use modifications and make testing accommodations to ensure employees with learning needs and language barriers have access to materials and can be successful.
  • Additional duties as needed within the scope of the role

 

Requirements + Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a trainer or educator, with the ability to effectively communicate concepts and skills to diverse learners
  • Previous experience in restaurant service, with a strong background in various service styles (fine dining, casual dining, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of hospitality industry standards, customer service principles, and best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of food preparation techniques, allergies, and beverage pairings.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
