General Description: Server Assistants are responsible for supporting all aspects of the guest experience at the table, including table maintenance, overall guest satisfaction and happiness, fond farewells and maintain a general command of the food and beverage menu.
You will work to provide impeccable hospitality to each of our clients, working specifically with each individual need to curate the best experience possible.
Key Responsibilities
Service
- Maintains warmth and hospitality in all correspondence with guests
- Complete opening and closing side work checklist for shift daily
- Set up dining room according to step-by-step guide and specifics laid out in the service manual
- Prepares dining room for guests by cleaning and clothing tables; Setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, plates and utensils
- Work with the rest of the service team to ensure that the dining room is fully set up in time, offering help to teammates as necessary
- Maintains tables by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses and being alert to guest needs
- Supports wait staff by continually replenishing silver and china, condiments, trash containers, and clearing bus stations
- Closes dining facility by cleaning chairs and tables; Sweeping and/or vacuuming floors, removing trash and recyclables from the facility
- Communicate with the kitchen to manage timing of courses, any guest feedback, etc.
- Deal with guest complaints by finding a way to say yes; involve the manager on duty as needed
- Process guest payments in timely, accurate manner
- Maintain sanitation to DOH standards; Keep work area clean and organized
- Inform supervisor on duty immediately of any DOH or OSHA/workplace safety violations
- Update knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunities
- Be a team player—support and assist your fellow team members whenever possible
- Complete other duties as assigned by management
- Communicate all necessary guest information with the team to set everyone up for success (allergy alerts, VIPs, special requests, celebrations, etc.)
Menu Knowledge
- Maintain an understanding of Argot food menu and have the ability to clearly describe our offerings
- Have a grasp of Argot’s beverage program and be able to summarize our philosophy and identify our different offerings
- Understand different types of allergy restrictions and help communicate potential issues to floor and kitchen staff
Brand
- Understand and communicate Argot’s values and brand philosophy to customers and staff and set the tone for a positive work environment
- Promote the Argot vision while establishing us as an innovator within our industry
- Actively involved in Argot publicity opportunities and community outreach
- Walks the talk with who we are and what we stand for internally and externally
- Brings to life a guest-centric vision with our retail operations

Experience/Education
- Minimum 1+yrs experience in a restaurant as a busser or back waiter
- Ability to lift and move 50+ lbs
- Proficient in a variety of technology systems, especially Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and POS systems
- Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
- Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential functions
- Ability to perform essential job functions when working under stress, in fast-paced environments
- Polished personal presentation: grooming meets Company standards, as outlined by Employee Handbook
