Co-founders Chef Junghyun 'JP' Park & CEO Ellia Park, and Naeun Hospitality (the highly acclaimed team behind Atoboy [2016] and Atomix [2018]) are currently seeking a Bartender to join service team at NARO - which recently received a 3-star rating from the New York Times.
Located in the iconic Rockefeller Center, NARO's cuisine is rooted in Korean cuisine, 'Hansik.' Through NARO, we hope to tell the story of Korean cuisine currently underrepresented overseas. Featuring multi-course tasting menus as well as a la carte options, NARO will focus on more subtle delicate flavors that are vegetable-forward, highlighting traditional techniques with seasonal ingredients.

Our Bartenders will work in conjunction with the NARO Beverage Manager and Naeun Hospitality Beverage Director, Jhonel Faelnar, in leading the NARO team in all beverage and service-related areas. This team member will provide assistance in maintaining the bar program, collaborating with cocktail creation, providing continued education for our team, and demonstrating exemplary hospitality and beverage service to our guests. This is an ideal position for someone whose passion for beverage is matched by their deep commitment to guest service & hospitality.
This position reports to the NARO Beverage Manager, NARO General Manager, and Naeun Hospitality Beverage Director, and includes a rate of $15 an hour plus tips.
Bartender responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Bar setup/breakdown, maintaining stock of all beverages according to service needs, and ensuring the team is well-prepared to execute a successful service.
- Responsible for serving bar guests and providing a memorable dining experience.
- Have beverage conversations of varying depths with our guests, guiding them through our list, in a polished and poised manner.
- Produce consistent and well-made cocktails in an efficient manner.
- Assist in managing the day-to-day needs of the beverage program (POS management, communicating ordering and prep needs, stocking, menu updates, timely staff updates, etc.).
- Assist with bar prep (e.g. making syrups, batching cocktails, etc.).
- Assist with weekly inventory and ordering.
- Maintain proper glassware inventory and breakage logs.
- Assist with inventory audits at the close of each financial period.
- Assist with the creation and implementation of cocktail, spirits, and beer training for new hires and continued education for existing staff members - testing regularly to check for understanding and structuring classes and tastings to encourage high engagement levels.
- Expected to be constantly growing, learning, and expanding their knowledge base.
Qualified Bartenders must be energetic, enthusiastic, and have a great attitude, as well as:
- At least 1 year of bartending experience (preferably in a fine dining setting)
- Must be able to demonstrate an extensive depth of food and beverage knowledge
- Ability to work in a clean, organized, and efficient manner
- Ability to assist with ordering and inventory
- Previous experience with cocktail creation is a plus but not required
- Knowledge and/or experience with Korean food & beverage is a plus but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs if necessary
- Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment
- Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant
