We are seeking a boutique Catering Director for Il Mulino New York – Long Island, an upscale Italian restaurant located in Roslyn. This salaried position also includes points and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Promoting and coordinating events with client representatives for capacity of 20 to 80 guest for sit down dinner, 80 to 120 cocktail party
- Newly renovated private room
- Maintain relationships with existing clients as well as find new accounts, both residential and business
- Manage the planning and execution of catering functions
- Scheduling staff to ensure appropriate coverage and service for events
- Overseeing ordering, receiving, and billing functions
- Following-up on all catered events
- Manage the financials of all catering activities through effective food, labor and supply controls
- Work with Corporate Chef regarding menu concepts and special events
- Professionally engage with individuals at all levels, including the client, team members, faculty, and executives
Requirements:
- 3-5 years operational management experience in catering field with minimum volume of $1 million annual revenue
- Previous catering sales and/or catering operation experience is required
- Previous experience in the Contract Food Service, Restaurant, or Hotel industry
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and decision-making ability
- The ability to lead, supervise, train, and coordinate the catering team
- Willingness and availability to work a flexible schedule
- Hands on approach to training and development of the service team
