Lawn Club is an exciting new competitive socializing destination in the Seaport, opening in mid-October 2023.
Positioning itself as “New York’s Leisure Headquarters,” Lawn Club will feature indoor and outdoor rentable gaming lawns in a massive 25,000 square foot venue, along with amazing cocktails and a small menu of tasty bites.
Designed to deliver the ideal atmosphere for hanging out with friends, each rentable lawn at Lawn Club will come with a full complement of popular lawn games including but not limited to bocce, cornhole, croquet, ladders, kan jam, beersbee, putting pool and shuffleboard, along with big-screen TVs for sports enjoyment, courtside drink service, and dedicated “Lawncierges” to help with all gaming needs.
Lawn Club will appeal to a variety of audiences: twenty-somethings looking for a fun night out, families looking for something to do together, anyone looking for a great event venue for their next birthday or bar mitzvah, corporate event planners, and more.
About the Role
The Events Manager will play an integral role in firmly establishing the CCMC business units at Pier 17 as a customer- and client-focused premium venue that provides visiting artists, guests, business partners, and corporate clients with memorable, world-class event experiences that are second to none. An experienced event manager possessing a proven track-record of managing internal and external resources in support of client events, budget planning, and collaboration across multiple departments will provide the world-class expertise required for this year-round position.
The Impact You’ll Make | Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for selling all event functions, including meeting with the clients to determine needs and exceeding their expectations through detailed communication.
- Networking inside and outside Seaport to obtain "leads" and build relationships with new and existing clients.
- Conduct site surveys for prospective and booked event clients, their agencies, and contractors
- Monitor schedules and deliverables, and track expenses and reimbursements for contracted events
- Serve as the key point-of-contact for service to clients and their agencies
- Collaborate and contribute in developing solutions for client challenges
- Develop production schedules and manage internal and external resources in support of client events
- Manage the permit application and approval process associated with hosting events at the Seaport
- Develop and maintain preferred vendors list including points of contact and valid insurance documentation
- Coordinate and manage the entitlements and expectations of Seaport and client event sponsors
- Ensure that company policies and procedures, safety and other laws, regulations, and requirements are implemented and followed
- Ability to manage expectations, processes, and multiple projects simultaneously
- Operate ethically to protect the image of the company
- Must be able to maintain a schedule availability flexible to the business demands
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
About YOU! | KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL
- The successful candidate will have proven event management experience; strong contacts within the events and meetings industry; and an excellent track record of developing strong client relationships.
- Experience in managing a combination of full-time, seasonal, and contractor staff
- Passionate, entrepreneurial, and dedicated to success
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Effective teamwork skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, and electronic)
- Genuinely friendly interpersonal skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs; Ability to stand for prolong periods of time and climb steps regularly.
- Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
COMPENSATION
The base pay range for this position is $70,000.00-$80,000.00 a year plus commission. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
