Part-Time Baking Instructor – Invictus Bakery
Schedule: Mondays 11 AM–3 PM at our Staten Island location. Flexibility to help with special orders as needed is a plus.
About Us:
Invictus Bakery is a nonprofit bakery in Staten Island dedicated to providing job training and employment opportunities for adults on the autism spectrum through the culinary arts. Our classes and bakery program empower students to build real-world skills while creating high-quality baked goods for our community.
The Role:
We are seeking a lively, upbeat, and positive Instructor to join our team part-time. You will support our adult baking classes, guiding students through hands-on instruction that emphasizes:

Kitchen safety and sanitation practices

Preparing batters, doughs, and other bakery products

Building culinary stamina and teamwork skills

Creating products that support our bakery operations and mission
These classes blend customized instruction, skill-building, and social interaction, welcoming both career-oriented bakers and ambitious newcomers passionate about culinary arts.
Responsibilities:

Assist in classes, providing clear instruction and support

Oversee large-quantity orders, including production scheduling, ingredient prep, and inventory management

Ensure timely, high-quality fulfillment of bakery orders

Maintain a safe, organized, and positive kitchen environment

Engage with students in a supportive way that encourages learning and confidence
Qualifications:

Baking or culinary experience required; pastry background a plus

Food Handlers / Department of Health Food Protection Certification

Strong organizational and multitasking skills

High standards for quality and attention to detail

Passion for working with people with developmental differences; prior experience is a bonus
