Busy downtown restaurant group is currently looking for a GENERAL MANAGER.

We are looking for an individual with strong food, wine, and service expertise who can help us maintain a lively, warm, and welcoming environment. Should be an excellent leader with strong personal skills and able to lead restaurant staff through busy service.
This position is hands-on and requires someone who can work efficiently under pressure and maintain a positive working environment. We are looking for a candidate with a professional demeanor who is capable of giving directions and making decisions while being diplomatic. In this position, you will be providing leadership to the staff, inspiring and motivating the team to maintain a high level of service.
General Manager will work closely with the Owner, Director of Operations, and Director of Human Resources.
REQUIREMENTS AND JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Work closely with all FOH and BOH staff to coordinate the operations of the restaurant
- Manage restaurant inventory and labor to achieve and maintain preset labor and food costs goals of the restaurant
- Effectively generate and assign tasks for the management team
- Must be People Oriented - enjoys working with our guests and employees, possesses good communication and interpersonal skills
- Schedule will include day and evening floor shifts, and weekends and holidays as required
- Provide training and food safety protocols for all employees
- Oversee employee scheduling
- Create a safe and positive work environment that is conducive to a high-quality dining experience
- Review a profit and loss statement to identify opportunities to maximize profits and provide key insights to the restaurant owner
- Work closely with the bar manager to coordinate the beverage program including cocktails, supplies, and other beverage needs
- Oversee and review all customer reviews and resolve any issues for customer satisfaction
- Must be familiar with NYC labor and hospitality-related laws and regulations
- Perform daily/weekly/monthly/yearly administrative duties
- Work in complete compliance with the DOH regulations and conduct daily DOH walk-throughs and maintain the DOH “A” grade for the restaurant
MUST HAVE:
- 2-5 years of experience working as a General Manager
- Strong leadership skills
- NYC Food Handler Certificate
- French Wine and Food knowledge
