Majorelle is a fine dining culinary oasis located on the Upper East Side. It is known for its classic French cuisine, old-world service and extraordinary floral décor. The restaurant was named number one for décor in Zagat's 2019 survey. Founded by renowned Restaurateur, Charles Masson, Majorelle is known for its high level of personalized service, its luxurious ambiance and classic cuisine.
The front waiter position would have the following prerequisites and characteristics:
-2+ years experience as a front waiter or similar position in a fine dining establishment
-A passion for excellent food, wine, and high-end service
-Be able to work discreetly with high profile guests
-Ability to work together on a service team, under the leadership of a captain, alongside a back waiter and busser, in your assigned station
-Have intermediate French cuisine and wine knowledge
-Be professional and calm throughout busy service rushes
-Recognize repeat guests and their preferences
-Be proficient in Micros and able to enter/fire orders in a timely, accurate manner
-Experience in table-side service, such as wine bottle service, deboning fish and carving chicken tableside, etc. (preferred, but not required)
-Ability to accurately take and enter orders, describe dishes to guests, and remember daily specials
-Excellent communication skills, and an ability to take direction
-Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
-Able to carry food and beverage trays and serve accurately according to the seat positions
-Experience with banquet/private event service
-Uniform: black dress pants and a white button-down dress shirt, with a black tie and black dress shoes (non-slip is preferred). A waiter's jacket will be provided for you.
Majorelle is open for dinner Monday- Saturday, the schedule will be five days a week at approximately 40 hours per week. This is a full-time, union position.
