Growing hospitality company with popular bars and restaurants in the heart of the West Village is seeking a talented and experienced Head Bartender with a passion for creativity to lead our bar team and oversee all aspects of our beverage program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing an innovative and exciting beverage program that will delight our customers, while also managing daily bar operations and mentoring the bar staff.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute an innovative and creative beverage program that includes seasonal cocktails, unique spirits, and other creative concepts
- Train and mentor bar staff to ensure high-quality service and adherence to all safety and sanitation procedures, while also encouraging their input and creativity in the beverage program
- Manage daily bar operations, including inventory, ordering, and scheduling, with an emphasis on creativity and experimentation
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of inventory and supplies for the beverage program
- Monitor and control costs, including labor, inventory, and waste, while still allowing room for experimentation and creativity
- Handle customer complaints and issues in a professional and timely manner, while also using feedback to continually improve the beverage program
- Collaborate with other managers and staff members to create a positive and efficient work environment, while also promoting creativity and innovation in the beverage program
- Prepare and serve beverages to customers when necessary, ensuring that they are of high quality and presented in an attractive and appealing manner
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a bartender in a high-volume bar or restaurant environment, with a focus on developing and executing creative and innovative beverage programs
- 2+ years of experience as a bar manager or in a similar leadership role
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with an emphasis on promoting creativity and experimentation
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of inventory management and cost control, with an emphasis on balancing creativity with financial responsibility
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment, while still promoting creativity and innovation
