Growing hospitality company with popular bars and restaurants in the heart of the West Village is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Floor Manager to join our team and help launch our new fine casual restaurant in West Village, NYC. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the front-of-house staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a positive and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bartenders, ensuring excellent customer service and a positive customer experience
- Create and maintain a welcoming and efficient dining atmosphere, including managing reservations, seating, and wait times
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers and regulars, building a strong customer base and repeat business
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food service, while maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Train and develop front-of-house staff, including conducting regular performance evaluations and providing ongoing feedback and coaching
- Assist in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling costs, with an emphasis on maximizing efficiency and profitability
- Handle customer complaints and issues in a professional and timely manner, while also using feedback to continually improve the customer experience
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food safety and sanitation procedures
- Collaborate with other managers and staff members to create a positive and efficient work environment, while also promoting innovation and creativity
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a Floor Manager in a fine casual or fine dining restaurant environment, with a focus on managing front-of-house staff and ensuring excellent customer service
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with an emphasis on managing and motivating a diverse team of restaurant staff
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with an emphasis on building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of inventory management, cost control, and financial analysis, with an emphasis on balancing creativity with financial responsibility
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment, while still promoting innovation and creativity
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all required licenses and certifications
