Job Details:

Peak restaurant is in search of talented line cooks to join our ever-growing team. You and your fellow line cooks will need to be driven and organized. Daily tasks include preparing mise en place for both service and private dining, all the while maintaining a clean workstation throughout the day.

We are looking for passionate candidates with positive attitudes and who foster teamwork and professional growth.

Peak is a modern American restaurant located in Hudson Yards on the 101st floor, with stunning views and food to match.

Peak’s menus are inspired by seasonality and sustainability. Our team of chefs highlight the hard work of our farms, fisherman and purveyors, while also showcasing an award-winning wine program from our beverage team.

This position is fulltime, 40+ hours weekly, open 7 days a week (except Christmas).

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience as a prep or line cook in a high volume, detailed cooking, fast-paced NYC kitchen (or comparable).
• Professional work ethic.
• Effective communication skills and ability to take direction from supervisors.
• Ability to work in a clean, organized, and efficient manner.
• Must have excellent knife skills, proficiency in detailed cooking.
• Ability to work independently, resourcefully, and proactively solve operational issues.
• Knowledge of Health Department food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to lift, pull, push, carry up to 30 pounds/ stand for extended periods of time.

Compensation Details: Very competitive wages ranging from $18/hour to $22/hour. Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, STD. and LTD benefits.
