Job Details

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join our small restaurant team. As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for stations within our kitchen, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and maintaining our culinary standards. With a focus on dinner service in our 45-seat restaurant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation and Cooking:

    • Prepare and cook dishes assigned to your station, following established recipes and techniques.
    • Ensure all food items are cooked to the desired specifications, maintaining consistency and quality.
    • Responsible for the accurate portioning, seasoning, and plating of dishes.
  2. Station Management:

    • Organize and maintain your station, ensuring that all ingredients, tools, and equipment are readily available.
    • Regularly check inventory levels.
    • Keep stations clean, sanitized, and adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
  3. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of orders.
    • Communicate any special requests or modifications from guests to the appropriate team members.
  4. Training and Mentoring:

    • Provide guidance and support to junior cooks or apprentices assigned to your station.
    • Train them on proper cooking techniques, portion control, and plating standards.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the kitchen.
  5. Menu Development and Creativity:

    • Contribute to menu planning and development, providing input and suggestions for your station's offerings.
    • Stay updated with industry trends, new ingredients, and techniques to enhance our menu.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or relevant culinary role.
  • Solid knowledge of cooking techniques, culinary foundations, and food safety practices.
  • A passion for food and creativity, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively with kitchen staff.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Relevant culinary certifications or training is a plus.
