POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Housekeeping Lead, the Housekeeping Room Attendant is responsible for performing all daily tasks associated with housekeeping duties for cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting, and readying guest rooms according to our standards, policies, and procedures, and in adherence to all state and local laws relating to the Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Prevention Plan.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and resetting guest bedroom, kitchenette, and bathroom areas
- Changing linens, making beds, organizing collateral on tables, straightening furniture, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping of rooms, emptying trash
- Cleaning and maintaining common areas, lobby, restrooms, and offices
- Washing, drying, folding, and ironing linens and towels
- Completing assigned tasks in a timely manner as outlined by Housekeeping leadership team
- Promoting a positive image of the property by displaying a pleasant and upbeat personality during each guest interaction; being comfortable responding to and carrying out specific guest needs and requests
- Being courteous and helpful to guests, including reporting any guest request or lost/found items
- Ensuring the confidentiality and security of all guest rooms
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the Housekeeping leadership team that may or may not be inclusive of the normal scope of duties, and based upon business needs
QUALIFICATIONS
- One (1) year prior experience in an equivalent cleaning position
- High school diploma or equivalent vocational training
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English at a basic level
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following:
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs
- Required to stand, walk, push, pull, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach with hands and arms, handle or feel objects, and use tools.
- Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
- Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills
- Use of stairs, ladders, and step stools
TYPICAL HOURS
- 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; weekends required
- Able to work a varying schedule to include holidays and extended hours as needed
