Bustling and beloved Washington Heights Italian restaurant is looking to expand our bartending team to support our rapid growth! The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality, thrives in a fast paced environment, and works well with a team. The restaurant contains both indoor and outdoor seating.
Candidates are asked to show identification and proof they have received a full sequence of a COVID-19 vaccine unless an exception due to a religious or medical accommodation applies.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Possess detailed knowledge of all food and beverage offerings to support an excellent customer experience.
- Making all beverage orders for the entire restaurant dining room, including wine, cocktails, beer, and soft drinks.
- Exhibiting excellent salesmanship to ensure high per guest check averages.
- Anticipate guest’s needs and maintain continual cleanliness of their bar space.
- Engaging with bar guests to establish "regulars" and return guests.
- Maintain a safe environment by identifying and alerting management and/or security to problem customers and having them removed.
- Enter orders and process payment on the POS system, accurately run sales reports.
- Send shift email reports to management team.
- Follow proper time and attendance protocol, including tip reporting.
- Maintain the stock and cleanliness of the entire bar facility, including preparing juices and syrups.
- Maintain basic use and understanding of the Resy digital reservation system.
- Act as a team player with your coworkers, offering helping hands when time allows.
Requirements:
- 1+ years bartending experience preferred.
- Basic wine knowledge. Italian wine knowledge a plus.
- Basic math skills and the ability to accurately operate a cash register and POS system.
- Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment.
- Ability to work closing shifts and/or long hours, including weekends.
- Sufficient grasp of Google Suite.
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 30 pounds.
