Jiwa Singapura is seeking talented, highly motivated individuals who want to be part of the region’s premier Singaporean concept. Team up with talented individuals who are genuinely passionate about hospitality in this unique opportunity in Tysons. Located on the second floor at Tysons Galleria, our 10,000 square foot restaurant is the second venture from the minds behind Cranes Spanish Kaiseki a Michelin Starred restaurant in Washington, D.C.

Balancing inspiration from the modern built forms of Singapore with traditional patterns to create a restaurant space that is imbued with culture. The elegant space includes 30ft ceilings, 2 beautiful bars, chefs table, and an expansive patio.

Finding inspiration from one of the most eclectic culinary scenes in the world, Chef Pepe Moncayo brings with him ten years of cooking and living in Singapore to the forthcoming Jiwa Singapura. It is in Singapore where Moncayo met his wife, had his children, and deepened his love for cooking and the art of hospitality. He calls it his “home, forever.”

The Tysons Galleria restaurant will capture the best of Singapore’s street-food culture and high-end dining, giving the larger D.C.-metro area a taste of some of the Asian city-state’s boldest, nuanced flavors. Expect to see the classics like Hainanese chicken rice, laksa and chili crab.



The Role:

As the Server / Captain you are responsible for curating the guest experience per standards by the restaurant and management. Your duties include but are not limited to taking food and beverage orders from the guests and note any special requests. You must have thorough knowledge of each item on the menu including the tasting menu. You should also be knowledgeable with the specials to help a guest decide between entree options, omakase, and tapas options. This role requires a sociable multitasker who can oversee the work of a team while simultaneously interacting with the guests. Keep in close contact with the Chef on Duty and kitchen staff to learn about changes and ensure food orders are processed efficiently. Confirm beverage stocks with bartenders and Bar Manager

Server / Captain  Requirements

  • able to work in a standing position for long periods and to work flexible schedules
  • be able to reach and bend and frequently lift up to 30 pounds
  • 1 to 3 years of experience related to applied position in fine dining restaurant

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Delegate tasks to Server Assistants
  • Ensure highest level of service and satisfaction is priority
  • Provide a memorable experience
  • Clear communication of restaurant concept to guests
  • Proper handling of cash and credit card payment processing according to guidelines
  • Prepare the dining room for lunch and dinner according to standards
  • Ensure glassware and silverware are prepared before and after service
  • Assigned area of responsibility is properly swept and mopped
  • All candles are set and removed from tables at the beginning of service and after. 
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items and be aware of changes to the menu
  • Server must be present in Area Of Responsibility at all times unless authorized by manager on that section
  • Server is solely responsible for explaining the food and know the techniques and ingredients 
  • Must always remain in their station whenever possible and be present for guests’ needs
  • Further duties and responsibilities not currently listed in this outline may be added at the discretion of the MOD.


Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($6.50 - $11.50) plus tips
