Position is full time
Must be available to work wednesday through to saturday as well as occassional events/buyouts on other days of the week.

MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED (and able to provide proof)

Ideal candidate:
- Open availability

- Clean
- Solid prep and line experience (grill and sauté)
- Able to handle volume
- Able to shuck oysters quickly and cleanly
- Min 3 years kitchen experience
- Solid knife skills and understanding of cooking technique
- Good communication skills
- A self starter
- Takes direction well and is able to work as part of a team
- Interest in and experience working with seasonal produce is a plus

Winona’s is looking for an experienced line cook to join our BOH team. We're a 3 year old established restaurant in north Bed-Stuy focused on ingredients, seasonality and simplicity. We are looking to establish our brunch service in the same way that we have done for our diner service.
The ideal candidate would have solid kitchen experience in a fast paced environment as well as some technical expertise for prep and production. Organization and cleanliness are key, as are good communication skills and a respectful demeanor. Experience working with seasonal produce and specialty ingredients is a plus.

Our menu changes and evolves often in light of what is in season and we welcome and encourage collaboration and initiative.

Nestled in North Bed-Stuy, Winona’s is a family-run restaurant, café and wine bar focused on warmth and hospitality. Anchored by seasonally-driven platings, thoughtfully curated natural wine, we hope to offer our guests an experience that is not limited by time but where lingering over dessert or conversation is encouraged.

Our first restaurant venture as a family, Winona’s is our follow-up to Backroom Dinners, an extension of the Greening Fine Foods’ catering company, in which we opened our home for a monthly meal, gathering friends and strangers around one long table. The word-of-mouth-based series evolved into what is now Winona’s (named lovingly after our dog). Our focus has always been to bring people together, and while, in these interesting times, the way in which we are able to do this may look a little different, it remains the driving force behind Winona’s.
