A brief history of Cedar Knoll,
The land in which Cedar Knoll now stands was acquired in 1760 by George Washington, becoming River Farm, the northernmost of the five farms that made up Washington's 18th century estate.
The initial structure and hearth of Cedar Knoll was constructed in the early 1800s as a farm house. This building was later remodeled in the 1920s and opened to the public as the Mount Vernon view antique shop.
Since 1941, the building has operated as an inn and restaurant. After a brief hiatus, in the Fall of 2015, Cedar Knoll re-opened as it stands now.
In 2015 a group of entrepreneurial minded individuals with an extensive knowledge in hospitality and culinary arts opened up a French-American restaurant tailored towards fine dining.
Cedar Knoll's rich history is prevalent throughout the atmosphere and menu, with locally sourced food and beverages our team has put together a very unique experience.
Cedar Knoll also stands out as an event venue, offering a "one-stop-shop" for all events. The unique atmosphere of the restaurant in addition to breathtaking views of the Potomac allows for the elevation of any occasion.
Cedar Knoll offers unique career paths and demonstrates an excellent history of employee retention and upward movement based on performance. If you are looking to work with a team of dedicated and supporting staff that is attentive to detail and caring about the restaurant, please contact us!
