SOMOS Hospitality, the team behind Tzuco, has announced UMMO, a contemporary Italian dining concept opening in River North at 22 West Hubbard Street in July. Helmed by Principal/Co-Founder Germán González with cuisine by Chef/Partner José Sosa and design by Karen Herold of Studio K Creative, UMMO will offer regional Italian cuisine.  We are seeking hosts for our brand-new restaurant in River North.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly and organized Host to join our team. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing a warm welcome and ensuring a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive. Your exceptional customer service skills, ability to multitask, and attention to detail will contribute to the overall satisfaction of our guests.

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests as they arrive, providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
• Manage the seating chart and coordinate with servers to allocate tables efficiently.
• Maintain an accurate waitlist and estimate wait times to guests.
• Escort guests to their assigned tables and present menus.
• Answer phone calls, take reservations, and respond to customer inquiries.
• Monitor and manage the flow of the dining area, ensuring tables are cleared and available for seating.
• Assist with the coordination of special requests, such as celebrations or specific seating preferences.
• Provide guests with accurate information about the restaurant, menu items, and any daily specials.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and courteously to any requests or concerns.
• Collaborate with the server team to ensure smooth communication and efficient seating.
• Maintain a clean and organized host stand area.
• Assist in other tasks, such as packing to-go orders or organizing takeout deliveries, as needed.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Host or in a customer service role is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Basic computer skills for reservation management and seating coordination.
• Knowledge of the restaurant layout and menu items is a plus.
