Silver Sands, located in Greenport, NY, is in search of Porter to join our growing team. Re-opening summer 2023, the iconic waterfront property will feature a 20 room motel, beach shacks, and bungalows as well as a variety of onsite dining venues including a diner, cafe, and seasonal oyster bar

Core responsibilities include

• Inspect all product upon delivery, ensuring order accuracy and quality.
• Help unload and properly store deliveries upon arrival.
• Ensure dry goods are stocked according to DHG Silver Sands guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness of prep kitchen, walk-in, dry storage, and upstairs storage space.
• Work with Back of House (BOH) team to maintain appropriate food rotation (FIFO) to ensure maximum freshness of food items.
• Ensures that we meet DOH regulations as reflected in inspections.
• Dispose of all trash, cardboard, etc. as needed throughout shift: Empties trash cans from all kitchen areas throughout the shift.

Work with the BOH team to execute additional responsibilities

• Continue to support the team by performing prep duties once AM receiving is complete.
• Expand prep skill set by assisting with other stations when needed. 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential job functions.
• Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects. Able to lift 30+ lbs.
• Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business.
• Being able to bend at the knee or waist.
• Ability to perform essential job functions under pressure and maintain professionalism.
• Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Arrive on time and shift ready for all scheduled shifts. Arrive to work following dress code guidelines and standards.
• Clock in and out for each scheduled shift and shift break. Exhibit accurate and effective use of time and attendance portals and procedures.
