We’re looking for Head Sommelier to join our growing team. As a member and supervisor of the floor team, providing Verve Wine clients with an extraordinary wine buying and customer service experience is imperative. Your role as a member of Verve will be to serve each and every client with expertise, friendliness, honesty, and hospitality.
As a Head Sommelier you will work with the Manager to procure and stock all food items, select wines for daily flights, set standards of service, and lead staff educational tastings.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Work with other team members to ensure that all customers receive exceptional service throughout their shopping experience
Provide wine recommendations and help customers choose the best wine for their personal taste, gift, or event
Make customers feel welcome and at home in our store
Act as a representative of our brand; help educate and excite others about our mission and values
Floor maintenance: main floor, coolers, and shelf maintenance
Receive inventory and place in corresponding region on the floor and in the cellar in an organized fashion
Help with local deliveries
Assist with in-store events; setup/breakdown & service
Train new and exisiting staff on bastic steps of service for wine flights
Conduct weekly inventory of wine bar provisions, place orders, update menu, and train staff
Create a schedule and select wines for our daily flights
Participate in staff educational tastings

Desire to learn about wine, work hard, and develop with our growing company
Good organizational skills and an eye for detail
Great at communicating clearly and effectively (in person, on the phone, and via email) with both customers and other team members
Dedicated to making people happy/exceeds customer expectations with a great attitude while being a fantastic and fun team player
Self-starter with energy to spare
Requirements:
Ability to easily lift and move 50lbs (wine is heavy!)
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must provide proof of vaccination
Minimum 2 years of restaurant experience
