We are looking for an Assistant Sommelier to join our family, someone who enjoys engaging with guests and also has a vast knowledge of wine.
Ideal candidates take pride in offering guests meaningful recommendations, warm conversation, and can expertly pour wine with grace and precision. Additional responsibilities include maintaining your area with pride and maintaining a pleasant experience for guest drinking and dining at the bar.
Work alongside master sommelier Gianni Vietina on a wine list that boasts more than 1000 varieties from around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist the Master Sommelier in curating and maintaining an extensive and diverse wine list that complements our menu and meets the preferences of our guests.
- Provide personalized wine recommendations and suggestions to guests, considering their preferences, food pairing options, and budget, to enhance their dining experience.
- Assist in conducting wine tastings and educational sessions for staff members to improve their understanding of wines and enhance their service skills.
- Maintain an organized wine cellar, ensuring proper storage, rotation, and inventory management of wines.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new wine releases, and emerging vineyards to expand your knowledge and bring new and exciting offerings to our guests.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as an Assistant Sommelier or similar role in a fine dining establishment or reputable wine-focused establishment.
- Deep knowledge and passion for wines, including an understanding of different wine regions, varietals, vintages, and wine production processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively explain and describe wines to guests, tailoring recommendations to their preferences.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Attention to detail and a keen sense of taste and smell to identify flavors, aromas, and wine faults.
- Certification from a recognized wine education program (such as WSET) is preferred but not mandatory.

Work alongside Gianni Vietina of Madeo Ristorante and Federico Fernandez of the Four Seasons at their restaurant, acclaimed by LA Times and named as one of the top restaurants in Los Angeles by Angeleno, Gayot and others.
Must be available on weekends & experience in fine dining required.
