Job Details

The General Manager will oversee all the operations of the restaurant, upholding the quality of food, beverage, and service. The General Manager will ensure that their staff is meeting company standards through active training and development. The General Manager will work in cooperation with the Back of House management team to ensure efficient restaurant operations.

At 1 Rockefeller Plaza, Lodi draws inspiration from Italian aperitivo culture and the Art Deco architecture of the bakery and restaurants’ surroundings. Ignacio Mattos and his team envision Lodi as a neighborhood anchor both elegant and friendly that matches its historic address. It is a place you can visit any time of day, whether for a quick morning espresso or a leisurely late-afternoon cocktail on the plaza.

Our ideal candidate has 5-7 years of leadership experience, preferably in developmental roles. They lead by example, are fulfilled by bringing out the best in their team, love a challenge, and own their decisions.

Off the bat, this role will be responsible for reestablishing our service standards, training & development, and partnering with the Director of Operations to ensure sustainable operational systems are in place. Be ready to roll up your sleeves and jump in!

Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of restaurant management experience
  • 3-5 years of restaurant experience in an Assistant General Manager and/or General Manager role
  • All day restaurant service experience preferred
  • Passion for creating incredible guest experience
  • Strong emotional intelligence in managing others and leadership skills
  • Organized approach to managing yourself and your team
  • Attention to detail
  • Self directed approach to personal learning and development
  • Full availability - nights, weekends, holidays
  • Ability to foster the education of FOH staff
  • Experienced using Microsoft Office  (Word, Excel, etc)
  • Strong Knowledge of food, wine, and spirits
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, & delegate

Lodi will be open throughout the day, where every item is executed with subtle care. It’s a place you always feel the urge to stop by. A light breakfast might feature a cornetto and cappuccino, while a simple lunch a porchetta panino and ricciarelli cookie. The early afternoon, meanwhile, may call for a sweet snack—perhaps a babà al rum—before the evening gives way to perfect spritzes and plates of polpettine and peppers and capers.

Flour will be freshly milled, and breads baked throughout the day. These signature pane and confections will reflect the caffè’s elegant, urbane, quietly indulgent spirit.
