As the general manager for an Enjoy AM restaurant, you are the head of a hospitality driven team. You will provide inspiring leadership to a team of workers that can motivate them to deliver outstanding experiences for guests. Through training, systems, and inspiration, you will ensure amazingly crafted and executed experiences for every guest. You will work with your team to develop strategies that reduce costs and increase sales within the company. 


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare an accurate portrayal of the finances of the restaurant including spending, ensuring pricing goals, and meeting bar costs.
  • Develop strategies to entice customers, including marketing and social media ideas, community outreach programs and research.
  • Analyze the restaurant budget with personnel to find and price inventory, reduce expenses, review current pricing and adjust purchasing strategies if needed.
  • Control operations by developing effective policies, creating high standards and working to make adjustments when appropriate.
  • Ensure an outstanding dining experience by regulating service and atmosphere for all guests; develop ways to cultivate a regular customer pool.
  • Recruit and train team members to excel in their position and mentor team members to grow their professional skill set for promotion
  • Supervise a team of employees; work to create a cohesive unit of people who effectively communicate; create a hiring process for key staff that ensures qualified people are selected, trained and retained through top recruiting practices; consider actions of employees in various situations that deem rewarding or disciplinary action.
  • Follow all appropriate health code and local jurisdiction food handling requirements, maintain food safety certifications, and model exemplary food health safety practices to employees.
  • Create a professional atmosphere that sustains top employee safety standards and provides guidelines to personnel to eliminate hazards and dangers in the workplace.
  • Look for new and innovative solutions to problems in the restaurant industry; use technology and social media to develop new ways to engage with customers; think; beyond what has already been done to create an even more productive establishment.
  • Lead the restaurant to achieve new and greater goals in order to stand above the competition within the industry.

General Managers work nights, weekends, and some holidays and typically work a five day work week. General Managers receive paid time off and assistance with health, dental, and vision insurance as well as access to group life and accident insurance.

  • 5-10 years experience in a restaurant management position
  • Experience in a high volume setting
  • Knowledge about driving sales and meeting financial goals

Back Servers are team members who help servers in the execution of crafting amazing experiences in the restaurant, and are an integral part of a restaurant’s staff. The job of a back server involves guest facing responsibilities, server assistant responsibilities, and common side work. The position also readies a team member to become a server.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Observe tables and take note of needs (i.e. water refill, pre-bussing, re-sets
  • Assist the servers by refilling beverages and water, making coffee and espresso drinks, and running food to the tables
  • Assist servers in resetting and bussing tables
  • Assist servers by polishing silverware and glassware and keeping server stations stocked
  • Inform management of guests who are unhappy with the service as quickly as possible
  • Maintain composed, professional and calm attitude at all times

Born and bred Memphians, Andy Ticer and Michael Hudman opened Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen in 2008 to feature innovative Italian cooking rooted in Southern tradition. The Chefs trained at Johnson and Wales University in Charleston, South Carolina and the Italian Culinary Institute in Calabria, Italy.

Their second restaurant, Hog & Hominy, is a wood burning, neighborhood eatery and was named one of the top new restaurants by GQ Magazine, Southern Living, and Bon Appetit as well as a semi-finalist for Best New Restaurant from the James Beard Foundation, which also named the chefs semi-finalists for the Best Chef: Southeast award for three consecutive years during 2012-2014, and a finalist for the award in 2015, 2016, and 2017. On February 15, the Chefs were announced as semi-finalists for the 2018 James Beard Best Chef Southeast award, placing them in the running for seven consecutive years.

In 2013, they were awarded Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Chefs Award and named in Starchefs.com’s 2014 Kentucky-Tennessee Rising Star Chefs. In his review of the restaurants in 2013, Pete Wells of the New York Times called the restaurants “A sibling rivalry worth diving into.”
