Full Job Description

• Prepare prep lists for kitchen staff
• Manage all cooks and keep kitchen staff productive
• Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way
• The ability to fill in for the Executive Chef or line cooks
• Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
• Order supplies appropriately
• Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Skills

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef in an upscale restaurant 
• Line cook experience in an upscale restaurant is an absolute must 
• Understanding of various cooking methods, fundamental sauces, ingredients, equipment and procedure
• Familiar with industry’s best practices
• Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Word, POS)
• Catering experience is a plus
