Valhalla, Chef Stephen Gillanders' newest and most ambitious restaurant, is hiring a Lead pastry cook to join its BOH team!

Pastry school student or at least one year professional pastry experience is strongly recommended. This is an ideal place to hone your skills in every aspect of the restaurant, not only pastry but as a hospitality professional demonstrating our vision of contemporary dessert plating, pastry production, chocolate work, and tasting menu style desserts. We are a tasting menu, team driven, focused restaurant.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, driven, and passionate about the industry. Excellent time management skills and a positive attitude are a must.

We offer competitive wages, health insurance after 90 days of employment, paid time off, sister restaurant discounts, and the utmost opportunities for growth. Hours- full time and part time, Wednesday through Sunday availability with the option of working 4 ten hour shifts for 3 days off a week. Flexibility with hours is preferred.

Main job duties and responsibilities
  • Knowing how to execute recipes correctly in a timely manner
  • Making all pastry mise en place for every menu item
  • Setting up the pastry line for service
  • Taking inventory of the pastry line
  • Filling out prep lists
  • Responsible for product knowledge 
  • Breaking down and setting up station
  • Expediting pastry station
  • Plating all desserts on the menu and tasting menu
  • Running all dessert made to every guest
  • Knowledge of baseline front of house service execution

Pay- based on experience with subjects for raises every 3 months.

Compensation: Hourly (Based on Experience)
