Job Details
An homage to the historic and cultural ties between the food of Southern India and Northwestern Sri Lanka, @coprarestaurant is the newest restaurant by chef Srijith Gopinathan and Ayesha Thapar of Ettan Palo Alto.

We are actively seeking Servers inspired by seasonal food and drinks with an eagerness to learn and collaborate within a team and share in a unique dining experience for our guests.

We value the desire to learn, teamwork, respect and communication; experience with fine dining and high volume environments is preferred. Weekend availability and a minimum of 3 shifts per week are required.

The following criteria will give you an idea of what we are looking for in a Server at Copra:

  • 3 years of experience as a professional server with a preference on Fine Dining
  • Strong Wine & Sprits knowledge with a focus on Natural/Biodynamic offerings
  • Knowledge Southern Indian Cuisine and food preparation techniques are a plus but not required
  • Ability to handle a section of tables in a vibrant atmosphere
  • Ability to take direction and be a team player.  We operate a Tip Pool so our success depends on your ability to be team oriented
  • Respectful to others, maintain a positive work environment with coworkers & guests. 
  • Maintain a level of organization, sense of urgency, and attention to detail
  • A firm understanding of current sanitation practices and health department standards
  • Current California Food Handler Card & RBS Certificate a must

The menu will feature dishes from Chef Sri's childhood things he enjoyed from street carts, toddy shops, carnivals, weddings, festivals, seafood barbecues and shacks on the beach from his native Kerala. Preparations that have their roots in family traditions, and recipes passed on by his grandmother, mother, mother-in-law, and aunts. Copra will source fresh local spices from the coastal regions in combination with fresh heirloom seasonal ingredients from Northern California. Local delicacies made with fermented rice and grains like Appams (Hopper) and Toddy flatbreads will be highlights.
